Arte the Products HALAL certified?

Whether a packaging material is considered Halal-compliant depends on its composition and the additives used in its production. Plastics such as PP, PE or PET are generally neutral but may involve auxiliary substances of animal origin during processing. Our products are therefore not Halal-certified, but to the best of our knowledge they largely meet the requirements for Halal-compliant materials. The following overview summarizes the key criteria and their relevance for our packaging products.

Halal Classification of Packaging Materials

Criterion Description Relevance for Bikapack Products
Basic Definition “Halal” means “permitted” in Islam and refers to products that are free from prohibited (haram) components or contamination according to religious requirements. Our packaging materials are technically harmless but not Halal-certified.
Materials Used In plastic processing, certain additives may be used for production reasons that are derived from tallow (animal fats). These substances comply with Regulations (EC) 1069/2009 and (EU) 142/2011 as well as the “Note for Guidance EMA/410/01” and its amendments.
General Classification Many of our packaging products meet Halal conditions to the best of our knowledge, but without official certification. Therefore, the products are not considered Halal-certified, even though they usually contain no Halal-relevant substances.
Certification Halal certification can only be issued by recognized authorities (e.g. Halal Austria, HFA, JAKIM, MUI). Certification for individual products can be evaluated upon request.
Responsibility The responsibility for compliance with specific Halal requirements in food production lies with the filling or manufacturing company. Bikapack provides material data and product information to support Halal evaluation.
Product-Specific Information Since formulations and additives vary by manufacturer, an evaluation can only be made on a product-specific basis. For detailed information on specific items, please contact our product management team.

Note

Bikapack products are not Halal-certified. Certain technical additives may be derived from tallow but comply with the relevant EU regulations 1069/2009/EC and 142/2011/EC as well as the “Note for Guidance EMA/410/01”. To the best of our knowledge, many products meet Halal conditions, but this area has not yet been certified. We are happy to provide product-specific information upon request.
