What materials are the buckets and cups made of?

The majority of our buckets and cups are made from polypropylene (PP). Depending on the product and application, polyethylene (PE) is also used in our range. The material used for each product is specified on the respective product page.

Different plastics have different properties in terms of characteristics such as rigidity, flexibility, chemical resistance and temperature behaviour. The suitability of a material for a particular application therefore depends not only on the type of plastic, but also on the specific packaging system and the intended conditions of use.

Individual products may also use recycled materials, bio-based plastics or other material concepts. Material composition, properties and suitability for food contact must always be assessed on a product-specific basis.

Important: The designation of a plastic such as PP or PE alone does not automatically mean that every product made from it is suitable for food contact or for all temperature and processing conditions. The specific material composition, packaging design and intended use are decisive.

Packaging products intended for food contact are subject to the relevant requirements for food contact materials, in particular Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and – for plastic materials and articles – Regulation (EU) No 10/2011.

Important

The type of plastic alone does not determine whether a packaging product is suitable for a particular application. Food contact, temperature resistance, suitability for freezing and other properties must be assessed on a product-specific basis.
