What is a tamper-evident closure?
A tamper-evident closure – also known as a guarantee seal or first-opening protection – is a break-off tab or safety ring made of plastic that connects the lid to the container.
Only after this tab is removed or broken can the lid be opened completely. This allows the end user to immediately see whether the packaging has been previously opened or tampered with.
Such closures provide product protection and increase consumer confidence, particularly for sensitive contents such as food, cosmetics, or chemical-technical products. They prevent unnoticed interference with the contents and help ensure product safety and traceability.
Almost all of our buckets and cups are equipped with a tamper-evident closure as standard. Menu trays, boxes, and other snap or hinged lid designs generally do not include a first-opening guarantee.
